Service Description

Shadowing Beccy can provide a unique learning environment for the conscientious horse owner/carer or the equine professional seeking to further their knowledge of PRO-Active Integrative hoof care, rehab, compassionate equestrianism, management and even business support. Join Beccy as she works with horses and their owners and observe first hand how she assesses, documents, trims, and works therapeutically with horses (subject to permission from owners and geographical location). You can even join Beccy for the day at our HQ in Cumbria and observe/ interact with our special needs herd during therapy and hoof care days. Unlike mentorship, shadowing requires no effort or participation and you can simply observe. On the other hand, if you like asking questions, you are invited to do so, including journeying between customers. Currently Beccy travels to Scotland, Yorkshire and the Midlands, the South East, and the North West/Welsh borders and South East of England every 5 weeks from April to October and every 6 weeks from November to March. Some regional visits will necessitate more travel between clients and a fewer number of clients per day. A consult or visit typically lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours, and a working day lasts from 8am to approx. 6pm. Number of horses can vary, between 4 and 9. Services vary and include Mentorship, Integrative Equine Podiatry (with or without trimming), Lazaris Nerve Release, or a combination. Typically, you might observe some or all of the following topics or areas • Horse handling and behaviour • How to recognise healthy posture and hoof ideals • Hoof and posture assessment and hoof mapping • How to care for hooves between professional visits • How to provide a supportive environment • Management of the barefoot horse • Understanding positive interventions to promote healthy ideals • How to transition a horse from shoes to barefoot . Nerve release and postural rehabilitation . Use of pads, boots and wedged pads . Signs of pain or pathology We can also discuss compassionate equestrianism, connection and relationship with horses, and even business support for the equine entrepreneur! Prices are including VAT at 20% Travel: you are welcome to join Beccy and travel between clients or visit HQ and you are responsible for your transportation to and from the first and last client or to and from HQ in Cumbria, if this is preferred.
